Front Range Treatment Center is overseen by Jenell Effinger, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist licensed in Colorado and Washington. She is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified DBT Clinician.™
Dr. Effinger is an experienced DBT therapist, specializing in treating issues of impulse control, self-injury, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and intense moods. She also works with individuals with psychotic experiences.
Dr. Effinger teaches DBT skills courses and works with individual therapy clients who are seventeen years old and above.

Tanner Oliver, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Colorado. Tanner is FRTC’s general manager, and he supervises our skilled team of licensed social workers and clinical social work candidates.
Tanner oversees FRTC’s Couples DBT Program, and he has a special interest in anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation, borderline personality disorder, and trauma-related issues.
Tanner provides couples therapy and works with individual adult clients.

Kara Clapp is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in Colorado, holding a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado Christian University.
As our dedicated Parent Coordinator, Kara serves as the primary point of contact and trainer for parents of clients in our Teen DBT and Child DBT programs. She provides guidance, education, and ongoing support to help families navigate challenges and reinforce skills learned in therapy.
Kara is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and specializes in working with families, children, teens, and adults. She leads our Friends and Family Program, facilitating skills training for loved ones to better support individuals struggling with emotional dysregulation. She also offers DBT-informed couples therapy, DBT-C (DBT for children), and teaches DBT skills classes for adults.
Kara brings a compassionate, goal-oriented style to her work, empowering clients with practical tools to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and achieve lasting change.

Alexandra believes that therapy is a collaborative journey where clients are empowered to explore their strengths and work toward meaningful change.

Sarah Gordis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado and California. Sarah received her MSW from Columbia University, and has extensive experience offering DBT, and other evidence-based forms of CBT.
Sarah is dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment for individuals, couples, and families coping with emotion dysregulation, self-harm, suicidal behaviors, post-traumatic stress, eating disorders, and substance use.
Sarah takes a collaborative and nonjudgmental approach to therapy with teens and adults, helping clients better understand their emotions, build effective coping strategies, and make practical changes that improve their daily lives.
